I have a severe chronic illness and get funding for care support from social services. a few times a year I go from liverpool to london by ambulance usually to see a respiratory and blood clotting specialist in St Thomas’ Hospital. Until recently the ambulance was fine, but a deterioration in my condition means I have been told I must have a qualified staff nurse with me for future trips. How much is this gonna cost an hour and how would I go about it? Preferably someone with experience of SLE, Respiratory and blood disorders, but any staff nurse will do..how much can I expect to pay an hour and can I choose to employ a nurse I know who looked after me in my local hospital rather than a stranger? Many thanks for your help…
